Ajay Kamalakaran is an independent journalist and writer with a special interest in Russia and the Soviet Union. 

He has lived in the United States and Russia, and is now based in Mumbai, India.

Ajay is the author of three books. His first work of fiction - Globetrotting for Love and Other Stories from Sakhalin Island was published in July 2017. His latest book- A Week in the Life of Svitlana was published in November 2019.
